The Bragg Scholarship & Continuing Education Fund
A single gift has positively changed countless lives in the Lake Chelan Valley.
In 1995, Edna Bragg endowed more than one million dollars to the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation to be used in perpetuity for healthcare education. To date, more than $1.5 million has been distributed from the Harold & Edna Bragg Healthcare Fund from the interest earned on this asset. Scholarships are provided each year for college students and professional healthcare providers residing or working in the hospital district.
Scholarships vary in amount, depending on criteria such as full or part-time status and the number of years a student has studied in a health care major field. In addition, health care professionals may apply for continuing education available throughout the year. A scholarship committee made up of members of the Foundation Board of Directors considers applicants.
Through the Bragg Scholarship & Continuing Education Program, LCHWF supported a total of 118 students and caregivers by providing $98,157 in scholarships in 2018.
We provided 41 local student scholarships totaling $67,867 to support their studies within the healthcare field. In addition, over 77 continuing education requests from our health care professionals were supported, totaling $30,290.
Applications for scholarships are currently being accepted. The deadline to submit an application is April 5th. For more information go to: https://www.lchealthwellness.com/scholarships-continuing-education/or contact us at (509) 682-6125.
